In the exhibition Land Self Love, artist Katrín Inga Jónsdóttir Hjördísardóttir explores the trajectories of love, ownership and self-expression through her own physicality, in a quest of finding balance between her Eros and Thanatos.

In the exhibition Land Self Love, artist Katrín Inga Jónsdóttir Hjördísardóttir explores the trajectories of love, ownership and self-expression through her own physicality, in a quest of finding balance between her Eros and Thanatos.
Her journey becomes a physical expedition through the territory of the love within. Her approach to the subject is sober as she peels through the fragile layers of various stimuli and situational challenges. The exhibition is a documentation of these processes, where the viewer enters a temple of self love; Land Self Love - Your Self is Land of Love; and is confronted with a palette of perspectives and degrees of engagement in the artist's work.

The artist surrenders to the voyeuristic gaze of the viewer, takes ownership of that gaze as she leads the way to total empowerment through self love.
Katrín Inga is unafraid to explore clichés, carving out a space of feminine æsthetics in our patriarchal society. Persistently she addresses love and sexuality in a therapeutic manner; trusting, vulnerable, she puts all her love in your hands.
Feel all her love,
she already feels all your love in her universe.

Artist Katrín Inga Jónsdóttir Hjördísardóttir is a School of Visual Arts, New York graduate. In her practice she uses various methods and media including writing, painting, performance, sound, drawing, and sculpture. She addresses love and sexuality in a therapeutic manner, believing art and love can play an instrumental role in solving the socio-/ political emergency the world is facing today.
